Delivering clear insight into creating sustainable communities

Every three months Smart Housing brings together housing leaders and professionals, experts, and policy makers to investigate and discuss the latest technologies and innovations that are defining the future of house building in the UK. Divided in to four sessions per event, our panel members debate and collaborate on topics such as smart home technologies, decarbonations to digital transformation.

Session 1: Intelligent Building Systems 09.30 – 10.30

Intelligent Buildings, Intelligent Homes, Building Management Systems (BMS) encompasses an enormous variety of technologies including energy management systems and building controls. This session will investigate the latest technologies and innovations that developers and builders look to insert in to new and retrofit homes.

Session 2: Retrofits: The Race to Decarbonisation 11.00 – 12.00

Cities such as London and Manchester have now set up retrofitting taskforces, to step up to the challenge of decarbonisation over the next 20 years. Millions of homes across the UK over the coming years will see upgrades to provide healthy, greener, and sustainable communities. How will we get there? This session will look to discuss the roadmap to net zero.

Session 3 – Future Heating – Heat Pumps to Hydrogen

With the Government new plans to cut carbon emission with a gas boiler scrappage scheme recently announced, what energy technologies will be fuelling our homes in the future. The housing sector has set an ambitious net zero target, but how will be get there?

There are many options available, heat pumps, district networks to hydrogen homes. This session will look at what technologies are affordable, practical and with offer a sustainable future for our homes.

Session 4: Smart planning – 14.30 – 15.30

The government proposals recently announced in the Planning White Paper looks to revolutionise placemaking in England. One priority is ‘Growth Zones’, as part of the government’s pledge to build 300,000 new homes every year. What smart technologies will planners look to integrate into new and redeveloped communities? What will future smart homes be like and how will people living them benefit from the technology around them? Find out and discover new insight in this innovative session.
